Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule Kairo - DEO Kairo is a traditional German-Egyptian school and a recognized German school abroad sponsored by the German-speaking Evangelical Church in Cairo. It can now look back on a 150-year tradition and is one of the oldest, best and also largest German schools abroad in the world. It is committed to the free-democratic basic order and, based on the Protestant tradition, it wants to be a place for intercultural and interreligious encounters, where the assurance of one's own cultural and religious identity is also the key to openness in contact with the other, with the neighbor as well as with the stranger .

The DEO is known for its very high standard of education, which is generated through qualified teaching and very performance-oriented students. DEO Cairo is located on a spacious campus in the Dokki district, not far from the Nile. In October 2019, our new upper school building was inaugurated by the Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas. Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, lessons are held here in digital form.
